Jude is a retired lecturer in higher education involved in social work. His areas of interest include addictions, homelessness and legacy.
PADDY DOHERTY
Treasurer
Paddy is an accountant and tax partner at KPMG. He has been treasurer of Welcome for over 10 years. In his spare time Paddy enjoys "the usual boring hobbies of watching and playing football and running around after the kids!!”
KATHARINE
STRAIN

Katharine is a senior leader with diverse sector experience across financial services, food and drink manufacturing and consultancy with significant experience of transformation. People management and stakeholder engagement. Qualified as a chartered accountant in 1995 joining Coca Cola HBC that year in Finance and then over the next 17 years undertaking roles in IT, Logistics, Factory management and strategic initiatives. Joined Moy Park as Supply Chain project manager in 2013 and was appointed to the role of Head of Talent and Organisational Development in 2015 leading organisational design and associated development requirements across the UK operations. Took the opportunity to join Danske Bank in 2019 as Head of People Services with responsibility for people administration, compensation and benefits, HR risk and compliance, systems, management information, analytics and HR projects. Following the covid 19 pandemic moved to a role in Finance as Head of Financial Performance management leading a cross bank initiative to determine innovative ways to ensure sustainability from a cost and revenue perspective. In February 2023, took up the role as Head of Financial Crime Prevention in Danske with responsibility for Customer Fraud management and operational processes to protect our customers from Anti money laundering risk.

Joe has been a practising solicitor in Northern Ireland since 1980 and in the Republic of Ireland since 2000. He is originally from Armagh and is a University of Galway Arts/Law Graduate. Joe is interested in Human Rights and Criminal Law and is also a trained Mediator. Over the years he has been involved with a number of public and legal organisations and charities and is a Trustee of the Friends Of The Cancer Care Centre.
LOUISE
MILLAR
Board member
Louise graduated with a BA(Hons) from King's College Cambridge in 2007 and joined the Housing Executive as a graduate trainee in February 2008, completing a PGDip in Social Research Methods at Queen's University Belfast. In her time on the Housing Executive Louise has been seconded to NI Public Services Ombudsman and Department for Communities and worked in North Belfast, Supporting People, Research, Internal Audit, Corporate Planning, Welfare Reform Project Team and now as Customer Excellence Manager within Housing Services, which involves complaints management, management of their online service delivery channel and delivery of customer research and innovation.
