How we help

Floating Support Services

Floating Support is a flexible, free service that provides housing-related support for individuals for up to two years.

This is ideal for persons whose complex needs – often due to addiction – make it difficult for them to attend regular meetings or to engage in group activities.

The Floating Support service aims to assist people who are facing difficulties in sustaining their tenancy.

Advice and practical help is given in the following areas:

  • Budgeting, and financial management
  • Housing rights and responsibilities
  • Claiming welfare benefits, paying bills and debts
  • Setting up home and resettlement support
  • Understanding tenancy agreements
  • Life skills and being independent at home
  • Staying safe at home
  • How to access daytime activities, training, education and employment within a community
  • Finding a doctor and accessing other necessary services in the community
  • Dealing with other agencies
  • Neighbour issues
  • Emotional  health issues
  • Advocacy
